Which illnesses does critical illness insurance cover?
It depends on the policy. They often include cancer, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and organ transplants, among others. Each insurer defines in its policy wording which illnesses it covers and under what conditions.
How much is critical illness insurance?
It depends on your age, your health, whether you smoke, the sum insured and the illnesses included. We compare SURA, Bolívar, Allianz, AXA Colpatria, Mapfre and others and give you a free quote.
What are the requirements?
A health declaration and, depending on your age and the sum insured, medical exams. It usually doesn't cover illnesses diagnosed before you buy, and there may be a waiting period. We review the policy wording with you.
How is it different from health insurance?
Health insurance pays for your medical care. This one pays you cash on diagnosis, to use freely, for example for costs your health plan doesn't cover. And unlike cancer insurance, it can cover several illnesses.
Can foreigners living in Colombia get it?
