Is car insurance mandatory in Colombia?
SOAT, which covers people injured in traffic accidents, is mandatory for every vehicle on Colombian roads (Ley 769 de 2002). Full coverage car insurance (seguro todo riesgo) is voluntary; it protects your car and covers damage you cause to others.
What does full coverage car insurance cover?
Depending on the plan, it can cover total or partial loss of your car from damage or theft, third-party liability and 24/7 roadside assistance with towing. Some plans add a replacement car or a designated driver service.
How much is car insurance in Colombia?
